Will Bett 21 happen?

No Entry, by Terry Freedman

For more than 30 years, London has hosted the Bett show, a mega education technology exhibition/conference.

A few weeks ago there was a notification on the Bett website promising business as usual but with enhanced safety measures. However, I decided that for the first time in a few decades I wouldn’t attend, unless there was some sort of miracle between now and then.

It’s academic now anyway, because the latest notice on the Bett website states that they are reviewing the situation.

Hopefully, whether Bett goes ahead in a physical form or not, there will be a huge online offering. It’s a technology show, so why shouldn’t there be? There’s already a series of webinars called Bettcast. I haven’t watched or listened to any of the episodes, so I can’t comment on how good they are, but the point is that both the principle and the process have been established.

As to the answer to the question: will Bett happen, I can only answer “No idea”. Perhaps it will turn out to be Bett, but not as we know it.
