Using computers in classrooms

I wrote this ebook in 2000, as a subscriber magnet for my new newsletter, Computers in Classrooms. It was also a freemium product, before I’d heard of the word ‘freemium’. There was a cut-down version that could be upgraded for a few pounds.

The ebook was intended as a quick guide, or list of suggestions, about how to use computers in classrooms in accordance with the then new Programme of Study for ICT. Despite the fact that it is dated because of that, the general principles are quite sound, especially the suggestions about managing computing tasks when not everyone has a computer, and how to start a lesson in a computer room, and what to do if someone finishes their work early.

You might think that all this is very quaint, but not every school is in a situation where each pupil can access a computer when they need it, especially in countries outside the UK.
