Blogging by email via a phone

How this blog was created:

  1. I took a photo with my phone.
  2. I emailed the photo to a special email address I have set up on my blog.
  3. The subject header was transformed into the title of the post.
  4. The body of the email was transformed into the body of the article.
  5. As I set up my blog to store emailed posts as drafts, rather than to publish them automatically, I was able to remove the annoying text which reads "From my phone".

Blogging by phone is not ideal under normal circumstances, but is a good way of quickly updating your blog when you need to. This is one of several methods of rapid blogging which I will be discussing here soon.

Used it on Posterous for holiday updates. Works fine but the messages are inclined to be a bit brief. Putting up Video/Photos with captions seems best use. Good for School trips but found no takers if they went overseas due to perceived cost issues.

Thx, John. Posterous is one of the services I will be mentioning in my big article on this subject. Shame about the perceotion of cost issues. I think there is a value in being "forced" to write short posts, son't you? Sometimes at least
@John McLear: looks good, a nie extension/application of what I was talking about in the article. Thx!
