New blogging course

Blogger, by Terry Freedman

There’s a lot to be said for blogging. I’ve already written about why educators should have their own blog, and I believe the same goes for writers too.

If you’ve thought about starting your own blog, but are not sure what to write about or what keeping a blog entails, then a course I’m teaching in December 2019 might be of interest.

I won’t be going into the mechanics of setting up blog in Wordpress or Squarespace or anything like that, because this course is not a technical course. The kind of things that will be covered include:

  • Develop an understanding of why you want to blog and what you hope to get from it.

  • Start to understand who you want your reader to be, and why they would want to read your blog.

  • Learn more about the different style of blogs.

  • Understand the basics that a blog post and a blog should contain.

  • Begin to understand how a blog gets found by others, and how you can promote your blog.
