Discreet ICT?

The BT (British Telecom) Tower is being opened to the public again for the first time in 30 years, according to an article in The Register. I never went to the one in London, but I did enjoy a meal in the revolving restaurant with a girlfriend at it sister tower in Liverpool.

The best bit about this article for me is the news that the tower was a state secret for years, and didn't even appear on maps. You'd think that the pilots of any enemy aircraft flying over London might have twigged that the tower was important.

Now, I don't know much about telecommunications, but I mean, look at it:

The BT TowerThat was a decision taken over 40 years ago. It's a shame in  way that we've lost quite a bit of innocence and naivety in the intervening years.
