Consultancy
This can take various forms. The following are examples of the kind of service I can offer.
New job
If you are a recently appointed headteacher, head of department or leader for computing or ed-tech in your school, you may benefit from a fresh pair of eyes to help you decide what needs to be done and in which order.
Evaluation of ed tech in your school or MAT
You could have me come into your school or MAT to have a look at the IT provision and suggest ways in which it might be improved, if it needs improving. This would not be like an Ofsted inspection and it wouldn't be like an ICT mark visit. In fact, it would have no official status at all, but that is an advantage because I would come in as an independent fellow professional, not as judge and jury and you won't have to prepare anything specially. After the visit you will receive a written report with recommendations.
Evaluation of technical support in your school or MAT
Could the experience of using technical support be improved? Sometimes, in my experience, the tech support is excellent, but teachers don’t know that!
Documentation check
Have me look over your education technology policy documents and suggest where they might be improved or tweaked.
Assessment
Ask me to work with your department on assessing Computing and ICT.
Promoting Computing
Ask me in to help you work on ways in which to improve the numbers of pupils choosing the subject from their options.
