Thanks for linking to my post. However, I feel compelled to add that before I was a mother and housewife I had an established career as a newspaper-trained business journalist turned freelance reporter. Don't want your readers to get the impression that I accomplished what I did with only a couple years of experience.

Fair enough, Michelle, and thanks for pointing that out (as you do in the original article). I was focusing more on the fact that blogging gave you some independence again, and the reason I would hope teachers would share your post with their students is that I think it would be good for them to know that the economic situation does not mean that all avenues are closed. Still, I suppose it's like everythng else: it can take years to become an overnight success.
